The Pearly Story Behind "Dusting in Pearls"

I always feel like a walking paradox. I can get out in the garden with my shovel and sledgehammer and love every dusty dirty minute I'm out there. I spend the majority of my life dressed in my "grubbies". Yet there's a part of me deep down inside that still likes "the frillies", "the pearlies", and "the sparklies"--all the pretty things. Maybe it's all the great classic Hollywood movies I watched as a kid. I don't know. All I know is that I can be dirty and sweaty and still want to put on heels when it isn't practical; buy the prettiest apron even if it will get dirty; and don pearls when all I'm going to be doing is dusting and vacuuming the house. It doesn't make sense. It doesn't have to. I've decided to claim it, celebrate it, and have fun with it... and create some "pearly" goodness along the way.

What's new at Dusting in Pearls

There's some new stuff happening at Dusting in Pearls. I thought it would be nice to share.

I'm really excited about the new categories at the Dusting in Pearls online store! You can click on any of the buttons below to go to the new category.

Then there are the newly designed gift certificates that are now available at the Dusting in Pearls online store. Gift certificates are available in $5, $10, $15, $20, $25, $50 and $100 amounts.

Unlike a digital gift certificate that gets emailed to someone, these gift certificates are printed on thick glossy paper and placed in a beautiful pink envelope. Because the certificate isn't printed until you order it, you can choose to have the certificate printed with the recipient's name and the giver's name OR you can leave them blank to fill out yourself. The certificate and pink envelope are packaged in a rigid mailer and either sent to you OR you can choose to have it sent directly to the recipient with the new fill-in feature on the listing. Click here to see more...

And one other fun addition is the "Behind the Scenes" page at the Dusting in Pearls online store. It tells the story behind what inspired me to begin with.

Hi Cindy! Colleen here.... Love, love, your studio. What a HAPPY place to design and create. It's almost time to head home from the shop and I am being bad and ignoring my work. Instead I am getting inspired by reading your blog. Yippee!!!

IMPORTANT "PEARLY" NOTE: If you are using Internet Explorer, you aren't having the most beautiful "pearly" experience that you could have if you were viewing this site with Mozilla Firefox for the PC or Firefox for the Mac which is available for FREE download at the above links.
